About Prayer

How can my prayers help?

Jesus taught his disciples that prayer was how believers are to communicate their needs to God. It is through prayer that we communicate our needs and the needs of others to God. God responds by answering the specific needs. We help by asking God to respond.

Can prayer make a difference?

Through prayer, we are asking God to intervene spiritually in our physical world.

Are prayers effective from a distance?

Yes. God has no limits. He is not bound by time and space.

Am I really needed in prayer?

Yes. God has chosen to use believers to impact the physical and spiritual world we live in. When believers do not pray, the power of prayer to impact our physical and spiritual world is diminished.

How can I learn to pray?

The Lord’s Prayer is a good start. See Matthew 6:9-15 and the resources in the Learning Center.

How can I pray for something this big?

By God’s strength and the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to pray for anything. Physical limits do not apply.

Am I too young to pray?

No. Prayer is not limited by age. As long as you know Jesus and understand the basics of his teachings about prayer and believing in God’s power to answer prayers.

Is there an incorrect way to pray?

No, as long as your prayer is directed to God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Your attitude should be one of reverence and submission.

I am afraid to pray. Why?

Prayer is a spiritual activity that we do. Our human nature is to rely upon our physical senses not our spiritual sense. It is by the study of scripture and forming the habit of daily prayer that we lose our fear of praying.  God will honor our efforts to pray and communicate with him.

How spiritual do you need to be to pray?

Being “spiritual” is a term misused by many Christians. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you have the gift of the Holy Spirit. That is as “spiritual” as one needs to be. All believers have a “spiritual” responsibility to pray.

Eph 6:12 – This scripture tells us where our spiritual energies are to be directed. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

About Ministry

What experience do I need to do ministry?

Every believer is given gifts by God through the Holy Spirit to do ministry. Natural abilities and experiences can enhance God given gifts. Pray for God to give you direction about your gifts and where they can best be used to glorify Him.

Can I be involved in ministry from home?

Yes. Many believers are able to minister at home. These can be bible study groups., prayer groups or writing. Many churches and ministries need at home workers to help with telephone, email and administrative tasks. Contact your favorite ministry for a list of ways in which to help.

Do I need to belong to a church?

Scripture tells us that we should be associated with a local body of believers. We gain spiritual strength from associating with fellow believers.

Is this ministry open to all denominations?

See founder’s statement and beliefs. Cults and such organizations are not considered Christian denominations.

What is the cost to me to do ministry?

Only what God moves you to put into doing ministry for him. Prayer247365 appreciates all (link to) contributions.

Are the hours limited to do this ministry?

No. Anyone involved with Prayer247365 is free to assist us as they feel the need.

Beliefs

What does Prayer247365 believe about God?

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Ref: Genesis 1:1,26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 3:14

What does Prayer247365 believe about Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying  on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Ref: Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13

What does Prayer247365 believe about the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

Ref: 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1

What does Prayer247365 believe about Man?

Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by sin. In Adam, all mankind fell into sin with the result that all men are sinners. Men are justly condemned to eternal judgment and can do nothing to merit salvation.

Ref: Genesis 1:27; 9:6;  Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 2:2,3,5; 3:23; 5:12;  Isaiah 59:1,2; Ephesians 2:1, 8-9

What does Prayer247365 believe about Salvation?

Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

Ref: Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

What does Prayer247365 believe about the Bible?

The Bible is God’s word to all men. It was written by human authors. This was done by the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspired it, it is truth without any mixture of error.

Ref: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

About Eternity

Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

Ref: John 3:16; John 2:25; John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; 20:15; 1 John 5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46

About Eternal Security

Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.

Ref: John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

About The Church

The Church is composed of all believers. It is the body and bride of Christ, formed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit and existing in two aspects, universal and local. The universal Church is an elect company of believers, baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body. Its mission is to witness to its head, Jesus Christ, preaching the gospel among all nations. At the Rapture of the Church, it will be caught up to meet the Lord, after which He will return to set up His Kingdom. The local Church is a group of believers voluntarily joined together in love (fellowship), worship God with praise and thanksgiving, and to glorify Jesus Christ through an aggressive effort to disciple others by the preaching of the gospel, and the exercise of spiritual gifts.

Ref: Ephesians 1:22,23; 5:24-30; I Corinthians 12:4-13,27

About Angels

Angels were originally created holy, but now because of Satan's rebellion, there is also an unholy angelic kingdom, referred to as demons.

Ref: Colossians 1:16; Job 38:6,7; Psalm 148:2-5; Jude 6;  Matthew 25:41; Ephesians 6:11,12; I Timothy 5:21; Revelation12:9

About The Ordinances

The Bible sets forth two ordinances, the Lord's Supper and water baptism. The Lord's Supper is to be celebrated regularly in remembrance of Christ's death on the cross, and in expectation of His return. Water baptism is an outward testimony of a person's belief in Christ. Immersion is the means set forth in Scripture.

Ref: Matthew 28:19,20; Mark 16:15,16; Acts 8:12,36-38; 9:18; 10:47; I Corinthians 11:23-26

At Prayer247365 Our Focus

At Prayer247365, we believe there is a lack of effective use of where spiritual energies are being directed and used. Our ministry and resources are geared to better use of spiritual energies. Eph 6:12 helps give us our focus. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Am I too young to pray? No. Prayer can be learned at a very early age. It is recommended that one start to learn easy prayers as early as possible.

Is there an incorrect way to pray? Prayer is communication with God, the Father, Jesus, his Son, and with the help of the Holy Spirit. There is no "incorrect" way to pray. However, there are things that can be said that hinder one's prayers. (See Article...)

I am afraid to pray. Why? Our human nature is to avoid things that we do not understand or lack experience and confidence. As believers, we all have a responsibility to learn all that we can about prayer. The power of our spiritual nature (as born-again believers) comes through prayer and the help and teaching of the Holy Spirit.
