Why do Christian
organizations today need an extraordinary,
organized prayer ministry?
Christian organizations needs an
extraordinary, well-organized prayer
ministry because they operate in a
sin-darkened, evil infested, Satan saturated
arena that wants to destroy God’s Plan.
Scripture directs us - in Eph 6:12 - where
our spiritual energies are to be directed.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and
blood, but against the rulers, against the
authorities, against the powers of this dark
world and against the spiritual forces of
evil in the heavenly realms.”
For a ministry to succeed in our global
community today, it needs to be founded
upon, covered with and guarded by God’s
eternal power, sovereignty and Holy Spirit.
His foundation is prayer that covers 24
hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a
year. This should under-gird every ministry
that sends the Good News of Jesus Christ out
to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord
and Savior.
In 2 Corinthians 1:10, 11 the apostle Paul
gives his approval for this approach to
ministry. “From such terrible dangers of
death he saved us, and will save us; and we
have placed our hope in him that he will
save us again, as you help us by means of
your prayers for us. So it will be that the
many prayers for us will be answered, and
God will bless us; and many will raise their
voices to him in thanksgiving for us.” Paul
knew he needed partners praying for him and
his ministry. Paul knew that his prayer
partners would not only participate in
intercessory prayer for him, but would also
lift up praise and thanksgiving to Our
All-Powerful God who makes it possible. Paul
knew his need for an all-encompassing
foundation based on prayer.
